A tuff ol' fight, I've fought it before and it don't seem to ever change. I'll keep on sluggin', it's all I know, I can't change the world, but I can't let it slide.

My new neighborhood is as red as my ass. It's pukedom pretty damn solid. But they's good folks there that need some prodding and I'll guarantee I'll be there.

Wish me luck on my new endeavor as I'll need it just to survive. But I'm an ol' hippie, a veteran and others, and the dreams I will not allow to subside.

The better half frequently works in the Delta and the Jackson area, and his people are from the Laurel area.

Despite setbacks like the racist creep shooting up the defense plant the other day, Mississippi has changed in many ways. It isn't perfect, not by a long shot, but certainly there are progressives there and people trying to bring uplift as well as the usual rednecks muttering about the Confederate flag.

I stop there often on my trips back and forth from NC and Georgia. I have a routine. Check into the Econ-o-lodge, walk dog, turn TV volume up, leave dog alone and go to Maxwell's for a steak.
