Morimoto is in town and I couldn't get tickets!
Waaah!

CHAPEL HILL -- The discerning panel of Japanese judges on the Food Network show "Iron Chef" may occasionally chide Morimoto-san for his unconventional fusion cuisine.

But on Sunday, Masaharu Morimoto topped sweet potatoes and grits with miso and made pasta from a radish to cheers and claps from an appreciative audience of 48 students who paid $125 each to see Iron Chef Japanese in person at A Southern Season's cooking school.

1. Morimoto Rocks!
He's my favorite Iron Chef, even if he's the third Iron Chef Japan. I wish Bobby Flay hadn't made a total ass of himself in front of him.

2. I like his dishes
usually. But man I didn't know he was here over the weekend. :D I couldn't have afforded the tickets anyway.

He said he understood Bobby was just excited and didn't mean any disrespect.

3. I thought the last Iron Chef Champions was Great
Especially when it looked like Sakai and Morimoto were going to go against Flay and Batalli but they mixed it up. Too bad about the chairman...I refuse to recognize the new regime.

4. You know, I've been to Philly TWICE, and not eaten at his place!
:spank:

I need to have some of his sushi, even if I have to take a loan out to pay for it.

just once. I didn't realize he lives here in the US now, though. Heh.

Doesn't LynneSin take you anywhere or does she just keep you chained up in her bedroom?

12. Heh...actually last trip was spent in DC, mostly.
She does a great job of hostessing. There's actually so much to do and see, that some things have to be left out.

Maybe next trip.

Morimoto's been living in the US for a long time, now. He was working in New York (although I forget the name of the restaurant).

9. Molto Mario
wouldn't get in the door with his orange clogs. Fashion victims aren't allowed inside the hallowed halls of A Southern Season. :P
