Missle/tank shell found on the street in the Bronx.
June 15, 2004 -- Somebody dropped a real bombshell on The Bronx yesterday — a fearsome-looking, missile-shaped, military canister that left residents panicked and the police bomb squad flocking to the scene.

"I was playing outside, and all of a sudden, police came down the block and we saw a big bomb in the middle of the street," said Vernon Allen, 15.

"They told us to back up, and they put tape around the whole block. And it was just sitting there."

Police rushed to the spot after receiving a 911 call around 6 p.m. reporting the bizarre, terrifying sight of the blue metal military shell, about 4 to 5 feet long, ominously looming upright at the intersection of Rosedale and Randall avenues.

2. Strange but true
The south section of our place was part of an old bombing range. We have found dozens of old concrete filled practice bombs and spent 50cal brass.

5. WTF!
I had a empty 500 lb bomb when I ws a kid. Later in life I painted it cherry red, pasted porno all over it and in neon yellow painted "Da BOMB!" on it. Do you think my neighbors reacted like that? They usually dropped trou and got to bidnezz... Silly city folk!

7. I suppose some terrorist just dragged a loaded 500 lb bomb...
into an intersection. Seems to me to be a prank.
