What's the best urban legend practical joke you've pulled on someone?
Edited on Tue Jun-15-04 04:20 PM by bif
I got an email warning me about people sending packages laced with some kind of powder that can make you real sick. I emailed the person back and told her I got one of the packages over the weekend and that I was on the pot all morning and felt like I was going to throw up. She sent me a panic email right back and told me how worried she was. I waited a coule of hours before I emailed her back with the Snopes entry and told her I was kidding. I think she checks out Snopes before emailing that crap out now.

1. Hair - No hair
In college there was this rumor going around that several seniors were blowing out eggs and filling them with Nair (a hair removal product). Anyway, we set up this girl prety good. (We had an ongoing exchange of jokes with her). This girl, Jenn, had been growing her hair since she was 10. It was well past her waist, pin straight, probably to her knees. My friend Matt shaved off half his head, in a very unusualy pattern to mimic getting hit with a nair egg. We saw her in the quad and naturally she asked abotu his hair. While we were talking to her, three of my friends in masks came out from hehind a shed and threw eggs at the three of us. Matt started to say it was the same guys. She freaked out about her hair. We let it go for about 10 minutes before we told her it was just regular eggs. It was worth getting hit with a few eggs just for the sight of her freaking out.

Of course she got me back. She did the frozen can of shaving cream trick, which I'll tell in the next post.

2. Frozen Can of Shaving Cream Trick
She took a bottle of shaving cream and froze it. On the bottom of the can is a little black plug that regulates the pressure in the can. She pulled out the plug, which lets all the cream out. However, since the cream was frozen, it comes out pretty slow as it melts. She put it in my underwear drawer. When I got back to my room 30 minutes later, my underwear drawer was overflowing with shaving cream. It was a great trick.

3. That any business that spells its name with inappropriate "K"s...
(Krispy Kreme, Kwik Kopy, etc...) is owned by white supremacists. I got a lot of mileage out of that one.

4. I said that Dubya carried Florida in 2000 -- but no one believed me.
Actually, I lie: I have NEVER said that Dubya won.
