Rant: People who can't be bothered to vote.....
Edited on Sat Jun-12-04 06:42 PM by Darth_Kitten
or don't have the time, or are "busy family people", or other such nonsense.

Just watched a little blurb on newsworld here (in Canada) about the upcoming election and the efforts being made to get people to vote. :eyes: One guy was too busy moving, etc. I thought, it takes 15 minutes out of your day, one day. HOW FRIGGUN' HARD IS THAT????????

People are so darn lazy and self-involved. People died fighting for democracy so we can have our rights and freedoms, and these people can't be bothered? :nuke: :eyes:

UUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRR.......

I'm in rant mode today.

Correction: the guy in question actually voted, but one of the many excuses people give is they were moving, too busy, summer holidays, etc. ;)

1. I agree. (I was going to say something very mean and nasty but I deleted
it.) But I don't understand why some people claim that they have 'rights' when they're too frigging stupid, lazy, and irresponsible to get of their asses to go what it takes to protect their beloved 'rights'. A responsible person must expend the energy and take time to vote in order to be able to have the right to voice your opinion. If someone doesn't vote, they shouldn't bitch about ANYTHING.

2. I agree

Today was our last day of campaigning for the European Elections tomorrow, and frankly: it was horrible.
Either the people were totally uninterested, or, worse, even aggressive (quite often about things concerning neither me nor my party).
I can understand sentiments about the lack of transparency in European politics, but a low turnout will not improve the situation.

Well, at times like this the mandatory vote in Belgium looks very tempting.
