With special recognition to ZombyWoof for the thread title!

May I just say that it was refreshing, invigorating, and lovely to watch something beautiful for a few hours?

1. Is it better than "The Player"?

2. "The Player" was fantastic, but it's apples and oranges.
I love all that is Altman.

3. Even "Ready To Wear"
That was almost insufferable to watch, IMHO.

4. Any other Altman films you care to bring up?
I agree, "Ready to Wear" was not my favorite, nor was it the subject of this thread.

But if you're into bashing Altman, go ahead and get it out of your system.

5. Not bashing Altman
Got way into him after The Player & Short Cuts. Pret-a-Porte was really bad. Love his earlier stuff, obviously. MASH was great.

6. Ready to Wear is a crime against cinema
Saw 3 women last weekend. It was beautiful.

Also watched Cookie's Fortune a few days later. Nice. Did you notice the mustard yellow car? Ha ha.

But 3 women was truly a work of beauty.

7. "The Company" was a work of beauty, too.
No beginning, no end. Just work, and beauty.

Pure cinematic escapism. Thank you, Mr. Altman. And, you're forgiven. :-)

8. Ha!!!
At least you like Altman, but then your taste has always been impeccable. :P

I actually keep meaning to rent that one. Big fan due to "M*A*S*H", "The Player", and "Shortcuts".
