My cats have finally met their match.

The SageKing Catty Corner litter box....

I've been waging war on our cats' bad litter habits and after hours and hours upon days and days and weeks of battles and clean-up and stealth observation I can happily announce...

VICTORY.

(Mrs. XNASA says I've been behaving like Carl Spackler through the entire ordeal and she's really, really happy it's finally over.)

2. We took a RubberMaid bin(big one) and cut a hole in the side.

Keeps the litter contained, the stink down, and Kitty's got plenty of elbow room. I like the idea of a screen, though. I'll have to check that out. :)

5. Very much.
No accidents since I put the new box into operation about a week ago.

I'd recommend it. Got it for $30 at Petsmart.

4. It looks like it should work better than anything I've used....
so far. Does it work and is it worth the money? What about for multiple cats? I have three.

8. We have 2.

It works great except that we don't flip it over as recommened.

We actually do the cleaning procedure twice each time. It doesn't take much more time really, the litter gets cleaned twice and the box is restored to it's original position so that the bottom half stays on the bottom, and the top half stays clean.

Otherwise, you'd be flip-flopping the top and bottom pieces each time and they both get a bit dirty. This way, only the bottom section gets dirty and since it's covered in litter, it doesn't matter as much.

But it works real well.

7. Looks like that might be just the thing
to replace my litter box. I've been looking for an alternative to what I have now.

I have one question though. Once you lift out the screen and dump the goods, how do you get the screen back underneath the good litter left in the box? From the pictures on the website it's not very clear. Do you just kind of push it down and the old litter comes up through the holes in the screen?

9. Your supposed to flip the pieces each time...
Edited on Mon Jun-07-04 12:57 PM by XNASA
So that the top becomes the bottom and the bottom becomes the top.

But we just run the procedure twice so that the bottom (stinky) stays on the bottom and the top (clean) stays on the top.

So you actually pour the cleaned litter on top of the screen.

Get it?

21. I kind of figured as much...
I kind of thought that's what you where supposed to do, because they mentioned something about a "transfer" of the litter. But it seemed weird to put the dirty side on the top. and I see you've solved that by doing the procedure twice. I imagined you could do that, but it still seemed kind of weird to me.

10. How are they about the door?
Do they mind? This might be just the thing for our Matilda who's a sprayer. We've had to resort to really deep boxes so she doesn't just spray over the side.

13. The door is removable.
Since it's made to flip 180, the door is made to be removable. I didn't install it the first couple of days so the the kitties would get used to it.

But it doesn't seem to be an impediment. And if it is, it comes off easily.

11. Always glad to hear about progress in "litter wars"...
This is a good product, and I will probably get one as a replacement second box, which is currently used more as a sand-flinging venue.

Every time I come home, the hallway looks like someone's been trying to blast out of a bunker with a 9-iron!

Cheers --

14. It's more accomodating the pics indicate.
It's one of the biggest litter boxes I've seen in a store. It's pretty tall too and the door sill is up off of the floor at least 4 inches.

But if you have a couple of big cats, 18-20 pounders or so, you might need two.

16. That answers my question.... I wonder if Sam my 25# will fit?
I gave up on other covered boxes because he wouldn't use them. Although he could get in, he got claustrophobic. I might wander over to PetsMart today and check them out. (PetsMart bad, big repuke contributor. Catshrink bad for patronizing repuke store. bad, bad catshrink)

17. To be honest, I don't know if it was Petsmart, or Petco.
But maybe you can order one direct.

So maybe I did buy it at Petco.
