Problem with Anthony Michael Hall on "Dead Zone"
Edited on Mon Jun-07-04 10:12 AM by Delano

Anyone else have this problem? I can't watch this show, even though I liked the original movie, because of Anthony Michael Hall. I don't even know why, but I don't like him. Maybe it's that I still have this little geek image of him, or maybe it's something about his looks or demeanor (he annoyed me insensely in "Edward Scissorhands". Maybe it's that he's kind of ugly - I haven't liked Mark Hamill ever since his disfiguring car accident... I'm too shallow!

Anybody else inexplicably annoyed by this guy?

1. Actually, I think both he and Rick Schroeder matured rather well
Loved Hall in The Pirates of Silicon Valley, he was an AWESOME young Bill Gates, and I like him in Dead Zone. Loved Rick Schroeder in The Lost Battalion.

Maybe he doesn't bug me now because I absolutely abhor the teen comedy flicks he was in as a kid.

2. I think it's a great show!
I taped last night's episode for my viewing pleasure today during lunch. apparently, last night's episode had a dig at BBV. Hall is also the producer, IIRC.

I know this show has become something of a cult phenomenon. I miss almost all the popular shows anyway, having little time for TV. I've never seen Survivor, The West Wing, Ally Mc Beal, you name it. It is really hard for me to watch anything other than the news, SNL, reruns of Roseanne & All in the Family.

I should really watch something new, I suppose. The last "new" show I got into was the first 3 seasons of "X-Files", but I got sick of being endlessly strung along...

4. Dead Zone targets BBV & evangelical political influence/corruption
Don't blink during the first minute of the show! It's a doozy and I hope you can stand up and cheer like we did last night!

Hall is fine - he just needs to blink more often.

whenever I see him I think of the young Anthony in "Sixteen Candles" and it drives me nuts.

6. Yes, and he portrayed a convincing geek.
That's called acting.

7. He was a geek in real life.
No getting around that.

8. The geek turned out alright.
Perhaps it was type-casting. In that case, give him credit for being self-aware at such an early age.

9. Watched my first episode the other night
I think it was the season premiere? I heard AMH interviewed on a local morning radio show, and he seemed like such a sweet, awesome, down-to-earth guy--I think I've developed a small crush on him as a result!--but anyway, I thought I'd give his show a shot. It was actually very good! I really like him, and I liked the show enough where I definitely want to catch the next episode.

10. I think about Weird Science and Sixteen Candles
Every time I look at him no matter how old he is I keep hearing him say something about tities.
