DUers with kids..need a bit of advice
Okay, twice in the last little while, I've been to two bad car accidents where kids are involved... it breaks my heart to see a child crying on the side of the road in the arms of a paramed.

Although it may be a bad thing to do....because of the situation. I'd like to keep some things in my car to give these kids at a time of trauma.

I'm thinking of keeping Teddy Bears, and Colouring books so far.. the books would be good because often they have to sit a while waiting for things to be cleared up.

Is this a good idea?

What else could I put in there?

My dad has been a cop for 30 years and he ALWAYS had a teddy bear (or two) to give kids at accident or crime scenes, especially when the parent is being arrested for something. I don't know what your job is, but I think you should definately get a few bears for the kids...They will appreciate it. I think during something traumatic, if a cop/paremedic/firefighter does something like this for the children...even something small like handing them a teddy bear, the kids will grow up remembering it...and will always respect people in your profession for it.

9. I've heard of police and fire departments
keeping teddy bears on hand to console children who are involved in traumatic situations.
