What teams fans do you dislike the most?
Not the team itself, but the fans. Because of free agency, and being able too dump mass amounts of money and build quick contenders yet having not been around long enough to have to pay their dues and suffer for years and years, like in the past, my personal picks are: St. Louis Rams, Arizona D-backs, Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Colorado Rockies. Basically any team who's fans are cocky and arrogant, without having payed their dues for the right to be so. And no, three or four down seasons is NOT paying your dues...

anyhoo, just interested in everyones POV...

1. Philly fans of any sport. Then
Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, Washington Redskins (and I'm one of them), Washington Capitals (because of their apathy), Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, N.Y. Yankees and Dallas Cowboys.

My few experiences at Mile High Denver sports bars were all miserable, hence the inclusion of Broncos fans on the list.

I can't say that I ever been to one. But I do like the Broncos. Champ Bailey had something to do with me choosing my username, I couldn't think of much. I spent about 10-15 minutes trying to come up with a good username.

One Broncos fan, BTW, shoved his way past me and my ex, giving her a black eye and a cut on her eyelid. We had to leave the game. A bunch of people saw it and shrugged it off.

27. Two Words ...
1. band
2. wagon

Living here in NH you see lots of punk ass kids running around with Yankees stuff on ... I was giving one a hard time one time and asked him to name the greatest Yankee player of all time ... his response ... and I kid you not, this is what he said ... "I don't know--I haven't watched football that much."

That says it all. "Yankees Suck!"

Edited on Wed May-26-04 04:41 PM by tjwash
And the reason we did that is that NO ONE, but people in San Diego thought we had a chance, and had to endure all the trash talk bullshit leading up to the series, and then when you guys took the first two, you basically were acting like it was over. Zero respect from the media, or cubs fans. So hell yeah, when you act that freakin' arrogant, you should be pissed off, but it shouldn't be at us, you guys should look in the mirror.

And yeah, it was sweet watching the Garv knock you guys out of the playoffs, off of Lee Williams in the bottom of the ninth, over the right field wall. It forced a game five, but everyone knew the NLCS was over after that homer.

Ground ball to Durham, "RIGHT THROUGH HIS LEGS!!!!"

40. Arrogant???
Cubs fans arrogant? no true Cubs fan is arrogant about the post season. obnoxious, yes - drunk, frequently, but no true Cubs fan is anything but bewildered by the post season...after all, we are the "lovable losers". We hope, but deep down firmly believe it will crumble in front of our eyes. Every World Series we have to endure listening to the announcers deciding who's gonna lose by the "Cubs factor" - which team has the most ex-Cubs on it.

BTW, the pitcher on the losing end of game four was Lee (my feet hurt) Smith, there never has been a Cubs pitcher names Lee Williams - we did have Mitch Williams (the wild thing) for a while, but not that year... perhaps you were thinking of him

48. Yankees fans
most spoiled fans in baseball...

my vote is for Yankees fans from CT. It's because of them I became a Red Sox fan when I was 7. I remember getting on the school bus and the driver would ask each kid whehter they liked the Yankees or the Red Sox. Any kid who said he liked the Red Sox got picked on by all the Yankees fans. At the time I didn't really care about baseball, (plus I was born in Minnesota) but I was annoyed by how smug and self-congratulatory the yankees fans were.

My dislike for the Yankees will only be tempered when there is a salary cap in baseball.

47. How does that make us "the worst". Because we love our team?
We are the best fans in baseball. Good fans are people that love and support there team. Bad fans do the opposite. I hate the Yankees franchise, but I don't call Yankees fans the worst. There are jackass Yankee fans and there are jackass red sox fans, but as a whole they both have among the better fan bases in baseball. The red sox fans however are the best fans. Thousands of us showed up to watch one of them shave, ok.

42. Fans at Florida Field are obnoxious, ignorant, criminal hicks
My parents, both Miami grads, refused to make the trip to garbage Gainesville anymore, long before the chicken Gators ducked out of the annual series with the 'Canes after '87. I completely understood the decision.

After the Miami/FSU games, regardless of locale, classy Seminole fans extend a hand and genuinely wish your team well the rest of the way. At Florida Field, we were always just hoping to leave with our bodies and possessions intact.

* They took a pennant out of my little sister's hand and snapped it, entering the stadium

* They tossed literally hundreds of mini frisbees at Miami fans, replenishing the supply even when the home PA announcer warned of a penalty

* They bent an antenna on our car, which was decked with Hurricane logos.

* While a student at USC, I attended a USC/Florida game at Florida Field in '82. The night before, at a pizza joint, a group of brilliant Gator students noticed my USC shirt and dumped our pizza on the floor, immediately after it had been delivered. Then they launched an orange/blue chant like it was the greatest accomplishment of their lives, undoubtedly true.

No wonder Howard Schnellenberger ordered an unprecedented last-second field goal by Danny Miller at Florida Field in the early '80s, rubbing it in during a Miami blowout. Schnellenberger has never regretted that, and maintains only the infantile Gator fans could have made him do it.

I attended last September's 38-33 'Cane comeback in the Orange Bowl, vs. the only slobs who could make Brock Berlin look marvelous.

46. Braves fans(or lack thereof) are aweful. They never show'd up to the games
or at least filled the stands until practically the playoffs. Red sox sell out the park EVERY GAME NO MATTER WHAT. Granted it's the smallest ballpark in baseball, but just the fact that we can have the second or third highest payroll(due to revenue) despite being in the 11th biggest metro.

Marlins fans are bad too, but since I'm also one of them I'm less likely to criticize. But there is a hell of alot more to do in Miami(more distractions and activities) than there is in Atlanta.

Baseball is the only major sport I'm really into. I hate ALL Cocky Yankee fans who act like they're partially responsible for the Yankees being good. And who do the prick 1918 bullshit. I don't hold someone just being a Yankee fan against them. If you're from the NY area that is. People who hop on the Yankee liking bandwagon from around the country are Fred Durst like tools
