I got booted off DU about that same time. Net connection at work appeared to be dead. I was just about to trudge off to the utility closet to rejigger the router (it happens from time to time here on its own) when it magically came back online!

Bear in mind that this is in Hawai'i: was there some sort of pulse that traveled around the entire Northern Hemisphere? Or some huge DOS attack that took out the entire 'net for a minute or two??
