Any Montreal DUers?
I'm from Winnipeg, but possibly as soon as Sunday or Monday I will be relocating to Montreal for at least two months. I know NO ONE there. Any good places to go? People to meet?

1. I'm in Connecticut, but I have friends in Montreal.
Finally got a chance to visit Montreal last September, and I loved it! I definitely plan to go back--perhaps even permanently, if Bush gets four more years. :scared:

2. PLEASE don't move out of Winnipeg permanently!!!
Things are just starting to get good in The Peg. It's starting to be a top Canadian city again.

5. There's a couple
FrogupNorth and Excav..... as for Montreal

The Peel Pub, art museum are great...but I'd spend most of my time in Quebec City ...or at least make sure you make the trip....but not with someone you're interested in...way too easy to fall in love in Quebec city.

6. You'll love it
Its a great walking city. Go see Old Montreal down by the port. Check out the bars on Rue Bishop. Go to the Main (walk in Mordecai Richler's footsteps). Go up Mount Royal. Walk through Westmount (with a crabby look on your face). Take a look at Notre Dame and Mary Queen of the World churches. Go to Place des Artes. You'll be there for the Jazz Festival as well.

You will have a great time.

and of course Congratulations for the new job!!:yourock:

13. Thank you!
I'm sure I will have a great time... Its just kinda scary, leaving my home on a few days notice, going to a city where I know... well.. no one.

I know it must be scary.

I've read alot of your posts. You can handle it. Just walk in like you own the damn place. Your new employer and coworkers should be a help.

16. I'm sure
I can handle it too... :) Though, I won't have any co workers, just me, and a little 8 year old girl and her single father. But I think it'll be great. I'll be doing all the things I do at home, like cooking and cleaning, only getting paid for it :silly:
