info from another forum: "High descent rate landing tests of the MD-80. The FAA pilot was supposed to land at 12 fps, but misjudged and landed at 17 fps. (Typical airline landing is 6 feet per second.)

The amazing thing is that this plane, originally intended for delivery to Swissair, was rebuilt and used for over a decade for flight testing by McDonnell-Douglas."
