Pastor Escapes Attacking Gator By Punching It In The Nose

LUTZ, Fla. -- A Florida pastor is recovering after an alligator bit him. The pastor was swimming in a lake just north of Tampa when a gator bit into his leg.

Pastor Rick Cabot got away by punching the gator in the nose. The pastor now has a bandage on his leg and his arm and needs a crutch to get around.

"I don't know if it was trying to kill me. It could have done a better job," says Cabot.

"I was under water this whole time, but I don't remember ever feeling panicked or short of breath or anything. I do remember thinking, 'I cannot believe a gator has my leg,' and I think that's when I punched it in the nose."
