5. A double entendre is
A comment that has multiple meanings.

Double entendres are used for double meanings, but most frequently are used with sexual connotations. They are harmless compared to outright sex talk. Indeed, double entendres are up to the read to decide what the other meaning(s) are. Or if there are any. Double entendres work on perception.

For example: If you looked at a tall guy who just caught a large fish and you see him holding it. You say "Look at the size of that one!" to your buddy. Now, are you looking at the fish, how tall he is, or the size of his 'package'? The comment is a double entendre as it fits an alternate meaning. (For the aforementioned scenario, I used two rather than one alternate meaning.)

Another example, though a sadly obvious one, is the subject of boobies. A booby is actually the proper common name for a type of bird. However, many DUers (I myself oddly not being one of them) use the subject line "Come look at my boobies!" to get you to read the message which, in fact, turns out to be about an avian life form and not parts of human female anatomy.
