Movies that help explain Iraq Torture Scandal?
What movies are there that would shed light on what happened with the torture of Iraqis that came to light last week? I want to make a list and post it at , and so far I've come up with The Battle for Algers, and The Jackel. So I clearly need some help on this.

Can you post the name of the movie in the subject, and then explain why it is relevant. Thanks.

2. Three Kings.
I could see military guys seeing this and completely missing the point. It depicts an American being tortured in the first Gulf War, by an icy Iraqi (or Saudi? can't remember). The torturer is describing how his wife and child were killed by smart bombs, and the theme of the film is the way we left the Iraqis and others standing with their dicks in the wind.

Again, I could see some 20 year old seeing that, missing the bigger point, and coming away saying "These guys deserve payback!"

4. a great film
I think it would be hard for anybody to see the torture scence and not get the message. But then, I think it would be hard for anybody to still support Bush.

But thanks for the suggestion.

3. Breaker Morant
Have to provide spoiler to explain, so read on at own peril.

The movie is about two soldiers accused of murdering a priest, and is told in flashbacks to their defense attorney. In the end you discover that they did kill the priest, but that they were ordered to because the priest was a spy. When the two men are executed, the only witnesses to who gave the orders are silenced, too.

That's why the "seven" are being rushed to courts martial. And, in my opinion, why dramatic things are happening today to move recent findings to the back page.

6. Closetland
Although, I suspect that's more what's in store for liberals should Bush get elected.

It's a good movie about torture. The only characters in it are the victim and the torturer.

7. "The Evil that Men Do" - Charles Bronson
I saw it so long ago that I don't remember much about the plot, but it focused on torture in Central America (or South America).
