Sammy Sosa Injured - While Sneezing
<snip>

SAN DIEGO - Sammy Sosa felt a bit sheepish while explaining why he wasn't able to play Sunday against the San Diego Padres (news).

He sneezed twice shortly after arriving in the clubhouse before the game, which brought on back spasms and forced him to grab a chair to support himself. While his Chicago Cubs (news) teammates were out beating the Padres 4-2 for a three-game sweep, Sosa spent the afternoon in the trainer's room receiving treatment.

"It would have been better if I had hit off the wall or we have a fight or something, but this ... you know what I mean?" Sosa said. "What can you do? Some things in life you cannot control. This is strange that it happened."

7. A friend of mine had this happen to him
we still make fun of him all these years later. Good to know finely tuned athletes can sneeze thier way from the line up.

8. No offense to fans of Sammy or the Cubs, but
I'm never sad to see him go on the DL. I can't explain why it bothers me so much, but that little homer hop of his drives me insane. It seems that Sosa waits until a night where he knows I'll be watching SportsCenter (I don't watch it every day), he homers, and he does that little hop. I don't know how a guy with 500+ homers can think that a little boy's playground hop looks cool, but he does.

I do love it, however, when he does that dumbass little hop and the ball fails to clear the fence.
