DU Hams, did yoy get any deals at Dayton?
I just got back from the three days of Dayton. I'm exhausted, my feet hurt, but I did get some good deals! Picked up a IC2100H for $100 and a FT680R 6m rig for 100. Got a bunch of parts, a bencher key for 35 and upgraded to general. It's been a long weekend. I was in such a hurry to leave on Wed I forgot to check if anyone here was going :( So let's hear the deals or the excuses why you couldn't make it

2. Congrats "General" Briarius!
Welcome to the static-crash world of HF. Tonight, at least. Actually my antennae are disconnected for the TSTMS in the vicinity.

I've never been to the big one, Dayton. Usually do OK at the smaller Hamfest (Dallas, Charlotte, Miami). My shack is kinda full right now.

We need a DU net. Of course we can't do it on 40-meters (too many Texas right-wingers there). Almost the same situation on 75-meters in the evening. Then there is Michael Powell and the FCC. Shucks, let's keep our politics on the internet.

5. There are a few of us ..

BigJawn and I are probably the long-time DU hams. Pocho is in Mexico, but I haven't seen him on in a while. W4RMA (Rick) has been around since near day one, also. Don (NNN0LHI) is an active MARS operator.

I'm willing to try a HF SSB contact with you guys on 20-meters. I'm used to working the rare air (the "extra" freqs) for CQs, but I have a good idea for a time and a freq. for an initial trial run. I participate on the International Association of Airline Hams net on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday on 14.28 mHz (easy to remember) between 14Z and 17Z. That freq is usually fairly open after our net. Maybe that would work.

PM me if you are interested, and I'll try to set it up. It will take a couple of weeks, due to my schedule.

8. Thanks!
I've got it easy, it's only a 4hr drive from here and I had a couple friends who I went with. It's pretty impressive, if any of you ever get the chance, check it out. It's definately unique.
