Some days I am ravenous and probably consume close to 3000 calories. Some days I am barely hungry at all and consume less than 1000 calories. I know that makes for bad metabolism although there seems to be some correlation between my activity levels and food consumption. The days that I consume under 1000 calories, I am usually essentially sedentary while if I do something strenuous I tend to want to eat everything in sight.
The last couple of years I've been on a fairly strict diet in terms of caloric intake. Most days are between 1000 and 1200 calories. Some days a little less, some days a little more, but rarely over 1500. The result is that I've lost 125 pounds. :) But I have to be careful with what I eat to make sure I get enough vitamins and minerals in my diet.
