OK, here's the question:

What is the LARGEST metropolitan area in the United States (in population) that doesn't have a major-league professional sports franchise (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL)???

And a bonus question: What's the metro area's population???

only because i live there. it used to be Columbus Oh but they got the blue jackets. Raliegh, durham has the hurricanes and charlotte has the panthers, but Greensboro, High point, winstons has squat.
