Poll question: OK...jumping on the poll bandwagon. If you found $20 would you pocket it?
I found a 20 dollar bill wrapped inside a Wal Mart receipt this evening at work in the ladies room. Had there been no receipt, I probably would have just asked the women in just my immediate work area if they had lost it. If they said no, I probably wouldn't have bothered to to take it any further.

But since there was a receipt I knew it'd be much easier to find the rightful owner; which I eventually did. What would you do?

1. You probably did the right thing, especially since it was at your work...
If I found a $20 bill on the street? Sorry, bad luck for whoever dropped it....

I wouldnt take it out of a wallet, though.

4. right
A twenty dollar bill lying around with no identification...who ISN'T going to say "Oh yeah, that's mine" if you start asking around about it? Absolutely I would turn it in if there was some way to identify it but otherwise I'd pocket it and thank my lucky stars. I'd feel awfully bad for whoever lost it, though...I've been in that situation before.

2. Pocket it
I'd spend it on a Starbucks frappachino and maybe a book, then give the rest to a homeless person. Then at least one person's bad luck can help someone besides just me...

3. If I can find it's rightful owner I would
I think all that shit comes back to you although I keep waiting for it to come back to the robber barons running our country.

But, MM, I am so disappointed. I figured your first poll would be which along the lines of "Which farm animal would you rather let watch you do the wild thang?"

5. Truth
If I stumbled across $20, it would be pocketed immediately. If I stumbled across, say, $2000, I'd have to look for the rightful owner.
John
$20 is nothing -- but 2G is probably important to somebody.

6. Depends...
on whether or not I was wearing pockets.

If it's a loose $20 bill, finding the rightful owner is very improbable. If I saw who dropped it, I'd give it back. Otherwise, it's mine.

if you allow a 20 to fall out of your pocket, then I dont think you diserved it in the first place.

8. I'd probably...
...be so surprised at finding myself in the ladies room at your work, I wouldn't even notice it.

Pedantry aside, It'd go into my pocket, if I'm being honest.

10. my answer
The only way I wouldn't keep it is if:

A.) if was in someone's wallet (with their ID, of course)

B.) I had seen someone drop it

C.) if there was another way to confirm without any doubt who its owner was

There's no way I'd shout out, "Does this belong to anyone?!" because I'd probably get mobbed by at least a dozen people claiming it belonged to them.
