On Friday, the cutting wheel in our glass cutter at work broke. It was the last one we had. (We ordered more when we had six left.) We put a sign on the glass cutter that said "Cannot cut glass until new wheels arrive. They are on order."

This afternoon about 3 pm, a customer calls me over. He points at the sign and said, "does that mean you can't cut glass?"

And here I am going through my apron looking for Fucking Idiots Anonymous membership applications...

2. Maybe. Maybe your customer was functionally illiterate.

Maybe he couldn't read the sign, and he didn't want to tell you straight-out.

Then again, maybe he thought the sign meant "fuck you very much, we're not cutting glass because we don't feel like it."

And here I am with a shitload of nice new glass to sell!
