3. Because the neocon junta isn't America
and I wanna help get the truth out and see if we can save the grand experiment.

Oh, and the comedy relief is helpful too.

4. Some people would say I'm here just to piss people off.

It's not true of course. That's just a nice side benefit. :)

Seriously though. I'm here becasue I can't stand idiocy from the opposition, I am sure as hell not going to put up with it from my own side w/o giving it a fight.

That's just one reason though. There are others.

8. Because I'm also a "Freeper"
I subscribe to no party line, and I have to intimately understand both sides to define where I fit.

9. I am drawn to it.
I have always been a bit more into politics than the average person, but a couple years ago, I got rather obsessive about it after the series of "misadventures" we began to face since November 2000. Fall 2002, DU was found and I soon signed up, but didn't post much until last Summer. Now, it's like a darn addiction at times.

11. Because the alternative is just too damn repugnant.
At least here there's a general realization of what is wrong with this country, and how it is getting worse. And because I feel that I fit in. I dispise bush* and the nasty members of his greedy evil cabal. I understand the difference between good and evil. And I, like many others on this board, have read the Constitution of the Unites States and it's accompanying Bill of Rights. I grew up during the sixties and seventies, I've seen it all before. Having gone through that experience there no place I'd rather be.

otherwise I am around people that are not very interested or informed about politics and current events, and I need a place where I can discuss these topics with people that share similar beliefs as me.
