Did The Simpsons kill off Ralph Wiggum yesterday?
I swear I saw Ralph on the conveyor belt with the pigs that were getting fed through the shredder when they were doing the TV promotion of "win a tour of the bacon factory".

No, he didn't actually go through the shredder on-camera and I can't recall if he was in other scenes later in the show. Even if he didn't appear again yesterday I can't envision them killing off Ralph. Anyway, were my eyes fooling me or did anyone else catch that segment?

And yes, I still watch the show loyally because I feel a less than stellar Simpsons episode is still better than 95% of the rest of the programming on TV nowadays.

3. I'm still distressed that they killed off Gill
The rerun was on last night. He was exploded, twice.

Wonder if Gill will have better luck in the afterlife?

6. THOH shows don't count
If they did, Homer would still be in the "Erotic Cake" store enjoying the third dimension.

14. Don't worry about Gil
He was out of the car before it exploded, had plenty of time to move a safe distance away.

4. He'll be back...
I base this on the episode where he got taken away by a large wolf ("You smell like dead bunnies.")

7. Ralph Will Survive
Ralph will be ok. So will Gil. Simpson's characters have 9 lives- just look at Hans Moleman. How many times has he been sent to a certain fatal end? And Dr. Marvin Monroe- we thought he was dead for years, and he came back.

8. Ah, the joys of owning a DVR
We have a Replay (think Tivo but with now illegal options) and sure enough we saw Ralph go rolling by and hit the rewind button. No shredding, but he sure did look happy.

9. For some reason
I find it painful to watch Ralph's antics. It all seems cruel and mean. Or am I in too mellow a mood today?

13. I see Ralph Wiggum and Bobby Hill ( of King of the Hill) to be similar
Granted Bobby's a little more self aware (and recently more annoying) than Ralph but they basically go through life sheltered in their own little bliss bubble with the real world rarely intruding to shatter the illusion.

10. Saw Ralph
But like has been mentioned he will be back. Unless he is demanding more $ per episode.

He's the coolest Simpson's character! (Behind Homer).

15. Regarding Gil
Wasn't he originally voiced by Jack Lemmon? And if so, isn't this the one and only case of a character being voiced by a different actor (Pretty sure it's Hank Azaria doing a JL impersonation now). Surprising since no such efforts were made with Phil Hartman's characters, who were much more integral to the show than the Gillster.

And in case of misunderstanding, NO, I wouldn't have wanted them to recast PH's characters. I'm just saying.

16. IMDb just has Lemmon as Frank Ormand
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000493/ Sorry I can't help more; my Simpsons expertise is limited.
