With the shit that has gone on this week… I demand that my mind dwell for just a moment on some good things. So, please help me make a list, I can start with:

Children at play

Ice cream on a warm summer’s day

A friend’s smile

McDonald’s restrooms on the Kansas Inter-state (I don't eat there, I just P*ss there)

What else? Please, I need some happiness……

1. The triplets at play.

And their smiles. Even snaggle-tooth Chris. (Bit of an accident there, it is his baby tooth, will eventually correct itself.)

And them telling me "I love you very much".

And the triplets being sad that I am not home when they come to visit my mother.

Warm weather. Whatever that is...

enjoying a cup of tea with sweets with good friends on the edge of a lake

Cooking for friends

having the train enter the station just as I go through the turnstyle

Foot massages by a loved one

Toasted bagels with peanut butter

Aged gouda or Old Amsterdam gouda

Casting a vote for a democrat

Eating the fat from around the eye of a red snapper late at night after a few beers

8. Listening to the rain...

A nice, warm, calm, sunny day

Chillin' on the deck at dusk in the summer

Buying some cool new toys to play with

Going home to visit mom and dad

Fishin' with grandpa

A clear, calm night

A good home-cooked meal

9. eating meat that you have killed with a clean shot

a big bowl of new england clam chowder on a cold winter day with freshly baked goat cheese and pepper bread

someone being moved enough to buy one's artwork

walking barefoot through cow pastures and jumping through cow pies with bare toes and feeling the warmth of the pie on a warm summer day filled with wildflowers and the scent of a beautiful breeze

a gin and tonic at the end of a very hot day

watching the incredibly beautiful movement of the jellyfish in the stunningly lighted displays at the New York City abd Osaka aquariums

Playing peek-a-boo with an incredibly cute Indian 5 or 6 year old on the subway

Having a gun rack in one's pickup

Playing golf on the north shore of Oahu and watching the humpbacks

Hiking Makapu'u and watching the humpbacks

Swimming on the Kona coast and watching the humpbacks just off shore

Going to the Bronx Zoo and watching the feeding of the tigers

Walking around NYC while it's snowing and enjoying the silence and the incredible beauty of Riverside Park as the kids, hundreds of kids and their parents, take advantage of the sledding potential as the schools are all closed, and taking pictures, then after a number of hours when wet and cold, going to a coffee shop for a hot cup of coffee, a cinnamon roll, and some time to just sit and chat with one's life partner and meditate on the phenomenal beauty that is in the world which is readily available to any of us when we simply decide to stop for a moment and see it

10. The scent of lilacs in my bedroom tonight.

And of lilies of the valley (which are starting to bloom here).

Really good friends, who I want to be better friends.

Travel.

Irish bacon (from Cork).

The iced tea I make in summer with mint from my "yad".

The triplets.

The sun and warmth.

Summer.

11. My sister is doing extremely well after serious surgery

And that is way good news to me!

12. Motorcycle (or otherwise) rides to Denali Park.

The first snowfall of winter.
Greenup in spring (not yet, but soon)!
Fit, healthy sled dogs ready to race.
Moose in the back yard, and you've got film.
Kitties on the bed - all 5 of 'em.
Friends.
