Hollywood got two stars for the price of one as 17-year-old twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen shared a new marker on the Walk of Fame.

What is the world coming to?

1. This is beyond lame

Granted, Hollywood is blatantly grooming these two for the future, but just what the Hell have they done to warrant this?

The child star actors I can think of off the top of my head who deserve that honor are Jodie Foster and Dean Stockwell.

6. What FOR?
In the late 80s, they were cute but unfunny diversions in a very unfunny shitcom called "Full House". Since then they've been nothing more than poster girls for corporate america.

I'm not convinced on their talent.

But they do have pretty faces.

And this is America.

Once they turn 25, they'll be shoved right out the door.

9. it's my understanding that just about anyone can get a star..
it's not really much of an honor. I recall Stern talking about being offered the opportunity, and declining because he would have had to pay a ton of money to have it done. It's not the same as having your hand/footprints out front of Graumanns.

15. From what I remember during the campaign to get the Monkees
a star....the request must be submitted to some committee who decides whether to approve it or not. Once it's approved the star must be paid for either by the celebrity, agent or fan club. I recall that Monkees fans contributed to the cost of their star.

Yep, it's America..anything can be bought.

13. OH JOY OH JOY!
Life is now complete! The Olsen twins have a star! Finally their talent as master thespians has been recognized...

Now we need a street named after them...perhaps a couple airports...a library or two...some ben-wah balls named in their honor...and maybe a drink or two...

So this seems about par for the course.

20. I saw one of them a few weeks ago
But I have no idea which one.

Pretty petite, anyway.

My wife knew their parents right back when they were starting getting into TV. They were even more petite then.

22. Talent? What do they do, anyways?
I've seen a movie in the video store, but do they do anything else?
Sing? Dance? Card Tricks? Set themselves on fire? Ping Pong balls?
I haven't got a 10-year old daughter to explain these things to me.
