35. One of my ancestors was one of the first valedictorians at BC.
It helped me locate him, actually.

He married one of my Great grandfather's sisters. She was Anne Smith, and he was John Taylor. To a genealogist, that's called a NEEDLE in a HAYSTACK!

But the archivist at BC was very nice. At least managed to find a middle name for the guy so I could continue my quest.

I'm now in touch with their great granddaughter. That branch of the family had been lost almost a century. And now they are found.

Bummer sidenote: His valedictory address was....get this: "The Value of Conservative Principles."

42. Cool.
BC's archivist (Fred? I think that's his name) is quite helpful. I put together a "50 years ago" feature for the student newspaper -- he had all sorts of photos, news clippings, even old ads (shoes -- $1.95 -- no ration stamps!).

7. Bachelor of Science
Social Services and Rehabilitation, Sam Houston State University.

Originally wanted to be a cop (lost interest in that real fast!). Went into the film business instead, where I toiled as a Location Manager for over 13 years. When I got married, had to start career search all over again (due to military moves, never in one place long enough) in Human Resources and staffing. I am now a Corporate Recruiter.

Graduated Spartan School of Aeronautics 1991. Job market was shrinking rapidly. I tried unsuccessfully to get on with the airlines, but they seemed to be interested in hiring people younger than me. Worked in general aviation shops for a few years until I got tired of the crappy pay.

Bailed out and went back on the road playing music for a few years, then landed in broadcasting.

Both from San Diego State University.

I was always good with numbers and mathematics since I was a kid, so math was the natural major for me. I switched to Computer Science as a graduate since that was where the jobs would be.

I transferred to San Diego State from a small college in Illinois when I moved to San Diego with my folks.
