5. Marly and Lennon
They lived the lives of hopeless optimism. And typically met a pessimistic end.

I'm not sure why I admire that. I admire the optimism, but not the pessimistic end so much. I was trying to make some point here.

I think I need some coffee.

19. also non-violence is not always the solution
gandhi was manipulative w.in internal politics on the indian national congress. he made decisions that cost india 20 more years of british rule. he pushed the nehru family which is akin to the bush family and caused india to be further impoverished.

20. Like I said ast time - you know more about this than I
I lean more towrds Malcolm X's aproach to change than MLK's (Based on Gandhi). It's interesting to hear an opposing view to a man who is practically canonized in liberal circles.

Thanks Lioness :hi:

22. Gandhi
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him . Will he gain anything by it? Will it restore him to a control over his own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to swaraj for the hungry and spiritually starving millions?
Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

- One of the last notes left behind by Gandhi in 1948, expressing his deepest social thought.
