2. If you're ever pressed for time, but want mac and cheese,
I suggest Amy's Organic microwavable mac and cheese. Organic pasta, and REAL organic cheese in the sauce. Just add water, and yum!

9. Really? I never have a problem.
I use a bigger bowl than might be required though.

It's only 1/2 cup of water and 3 minutes.

3. I miss my momma
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 03:28 PM by VelmaD
Whenever I wasn't feeling well when I lived at home my momma would make me homemade mac and cheese. My favorite comfort food. She'd even make it with the little Texas shaped pasta if I asked nice. :)

10. Whole Foods Mac and Cheese is the best I've had
I bought some a few weeks ago and they stuffed the box full and when I got to the checkout, I found out it weighed over four pounds and cost more than $20!!! The checkout guy told me it was going to fall out of the box, so he double bagged it in its own bag. We never did eat all of it.

14. We're trying to avoid the stuff
We were eating it about 3 times a week, because we like it, it's cheap, and it's easy - but it is frigging FATTENING. Since we've been trying to eat healthier, John's lost 35 pounds (YAY, John!!!) and I've lost 14 myself. So get thee behind me with thy evil mac & cheese!

22. I was never very jumbo myself
I started at 135...and as of today, I'm actually at my goal weight of 120. Johnny's still got about 50 pounds to go, but he's looking a hell of a lot better, and no more sleep apnea and wheezing! :-)

23. I gave up on the stuff long ago too, except for when I roast a chicken,
then, it has to be Kraft Mac n Cheez for the side dish. I've got to have SOME excuse to eat the orange delight once in a while.

16. best mac and cheese
is my mac and cheese

recipe:
Preheat oven to 350. Butter a 13X9X2 baking dish. Cook 2 cups elbow
macaroni in salted water until tender but firm. Drain pasta. Transfer to
prepared dish. Cube approx. 5 oz. cheddar cheese, and mix with the noodles.
In a separate bowl, whisk 2 T.plus 2 t. flour, dash of salt, 1 1/2 t. dry
mustard, 1/4 t. black pepper, 1/8 t. cayenne pepper, 1/8 t. nutmeg, until
no lumps remain. Gradually whisk in 1 1/3c. half and half, 1 1/3 c.
whipping cram, 2/3 c. sour cream. Add 2 large eggs and 3/4 t.
Worcestershire sauce; whisk to blend. Pour over macaroni mixture, and stir
to blend.
Grate 5 oz. more cheddar cheese, and sprinkle over top. Bake until just set
around edges but sauce is still liquid in the center, about 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven; let stand 10 minutes to thicken slightly, sauce will
be creamy.

can be served alone or as a side dish

19. We call it 'Kraft Dinner' up here in Keenada
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 05:54 PM by Canuckistanian
I tried making it once. I left out the "drain pasta" part.
Ended up with a very salty cheese noodle soup.

20. yep!
I call it that because of Canadians Terence and Philip on South Park. "Let's eat a Kraft Dinner, Terence! But first, we put on our pirate costumes and search for treasure!"
