it was a double haul. there was a big brown right against the shore and a deep pool between me and him. Thats on the clark fork in Montana and later that day a mess of beavers got after me. Not the good kind of beavers either.

particularly Alberton Gorge. Also guided raft trips down the SanJuan from Bluff to Mexican Hat.

I was born real close to the San Juan, Farmington NM. That is some nice trophy water. I got a 26 out of there once. Caught and released. Quick sad story. I was in Ireland in October without a flyrod. Hows that for sad?

I was on a tour, ie. busload of old people. My wife has family there so we'll get to go back. Have you ever been to Hawaii? The last 2 times I've gone I've bonefished. They have some giant bonefish. real hard to catch and its always windy. If you wanna perfect a cast thats the place.

28. I am the master of the side-arm double haul...

Casting 75-100 feet over windy saltwater, you can't air out your flies like your used to. You have to keep the whole loop about 3-4 feet off the water, if you want to get any distance.

My buddy just came back from bone fishing in HI. He said the scenery and the fishing were both incredible.

Out here in VA, we are up to our elbows in Stripers (we call them Rockfish here) getting up into the 45 inch range. My biggest on fly tackle was about 24 inches, and that gave me the workout of a lifetime. If you're ever out here, PM me and I'll be sure to get you on the water.

Those suckers are just plain mean. They "know" when one of their own has been hooked up and will actually follow it to the boat, nipping at it with those wicked teeth the whole way.

Watching a bluefish feeding frenzy is pretty nifty, too. They actually secrete oil through their skin to form a slick on the water's surface.
