Do you think a love of pets says anything about a person?
I do.

My dog loves everyone.

If I meet someone who hates animals or doesn't like my dog or has an aversion to him, I am suspicious about that person. My dog is a good barameter when it comes to people.

How can one not like him? He's adorable! LOL!

How about you? Do you think your pets are a good barameter about people?

1. Oh yeah
People who don't like dogs and cats are just strange.

Also, if a usually mild-mannered dog freaks out about someone, it's not a good sign.

2. Yeah, but both Bush and Hitler
have (had) dogs, I believe.

Not the greatest barometer.

5. We named our cats Osoma bin Laden and Saddam Hussain.
It's really great fun. "Hi Osoma, and Saddam."

He loves having his picture taken. Always gets his nose right up there, so all you pretty much see is his nose...

6. Having pets is not a barometer, LOVING them is
as another poster has said Hitler had a dog, but then again he poisoned his dog as well. I judge people on the way they treat their pets or other's pets, good judge of character. I feel that if a person can empathize with an animal, they are much more likely to do the same to other people.

himself into the path of an oncoming humvee if he had the chance...poor little creature!

11. Not always.

I hate cats. I will push them away from me if they come anywhere near me. Does that mean I'm a mean person? Absolutely not. I will push the cat away because my nasal cavities flare up from cats. It doesn't mean I am mean by any means.

Now, if someone were to kick, hit, or even worse--kill to a pet on purpose, then it says a lot about him/her. I wouldn't talk to anyone who deliberatley hurt an animal.
