The Passion of the Illegal Camcorder
http://www.imdb.com/news/sb/#film1

Tipped off by an audience member and a projectionist, police have arrested two men under California's new law barring use of a camcorder in a movie theater. The Associated Press reported Wednesday that one of the men, Min Jae Joun, was nabbed Saturday after someone spotted the red light from his camcorder during a screening of The Passion of the Christ. The other man, Ruben Centeno Moreno, was spotted by a projectionist scanning the audience with night-vision goggles. The arrests were the first to be carried out under a recently enacted California law making the use of a camcorder in a movie theater a misdemeanor.

I guess whoever was using the camcorder forgot their 10 Commandments: "Thou shalt not steal"

1. More like "thou shalt...
...stick a little piece of black electrical tape over thine 'record' light."

2. "Thou shalt put tape over thy camcorders red light"
That type of pirated video is called a "cam".

Usually they're of poor quality (oftentimes the heads of people in the audience block part of the picture).

3. Projectionist scanning the audience with night-vision goggles? Yikes
I hope they don't show pornos at that theater.

6. Theoretically, yes. Mel is making money off of the death of Jesus.
Enjoy your film! :)

11. This whole thing makes me ill
To think that all the Christians going to see this think that man is some kind of blessed figure. It is a low and vile thing that he has done. Making money off of the death of Jesus and then licensing products like a cross coffee mug and a nail pendant is equal to pissing on the New Testament to me. It's all very nauseating.

12. Merchandise is bad enough, but... NAILS???????
WTF? Even I, a total non-believer, got offended by that. And I don't get offended easily.

7. Ooh, have some fun.
Take a red light to your California theater. Turn it on and see if anyone comes. If they accost you, say: 'Oh, I dropped my keys and was using this noninstrusive light to search for them.'

8. Nice
But copyright nazism doesn't tend to spread to Brazil too quickly, so I won't likely have a chance to use it. Good for Californians, though.

9. Well, since copyright violation isn't theft...
...anymore than running a red light is, I'd say, no, no Commandments broken.
