1. If you don't watch Kung Fu movies, you won't like Kill Bill
It's Quentin's homage to 70s martial arts flicks, and many of the genre's stars are in the movie. If you aren't moderately well versed then you won't get about 70% of the movie.

2. wow you paid $4.50... you're lucky!
I can't stand Tarantino, and I have more disdain for Umma. But on the other hand Lucy Liu is so attractive I was torn for about 3 seconds over seeing another Tarantino film. Then I remembered the utter tripe that was "Charlie's Angels" (Even though Bill Murry is a comic genius!) and I decided to save my money.

You have my sympathies for suffering a Tarantino film, his career should have ended after "Reservoir Dogs" his last decent film, and that was a Hong Kong rip off!

:grr:

5. I've always thought he was bad too
Even in kill bill, you cold see were he ripped of stuff from other movies, little subtle jokes and stuff.

3. It was mediocre with brilliant bits.
I'm just pissed that Michael Madsen had third billing and no lines in the film.

Bits that sucked: the gratuitous mental-patient rape dialogue- does anyone really believe Tarantino wasn't jerking off for real when he wrote that?

Brilliant bits: Darryl Hannah's nurse costume with the Red Cross eye patch. "If you're still sore about it, I'll be waiting."

The fighting gets a bit redundant but that's my problem with all martial arts movies.

I'll see part 2 and probably like it better.

4. I loved it
just bought the DVD today. Can't wait to watch it again, and I'm going to Kill Bill II this weekend.

Thought it was the best movie of last year - and I DON'T watch Kung Fu films.

11. Rented it...I liked it.
It was exceptionally gory, but not at all as bad as some seem to think. The blood spray was so phony, you really couldn't get upset at it.
