Poll question: A Poll for those who go to Church and Ann Coulter
Just a hypothetical question.

Ann Coulters latest article alleges "The only Democrats who go to church regularly are the ones who plan to run for president someday and are preparing in advance to fake a belief in God."

So I thought I'd take a short survey to see why those of us who go to church go.

1. Just because we don't
wear religion on our sleeves, pander to idiotic hypocrites like Robertson and Falwell, believe in the separation of church and state, and are tolerant and peaceful, does not mean the left is not religious.

2. Isn't she just wonderful?
Words are inadequate to express how loathsome that creature is. And while Dems are expected to condemn every single "offensive" statement (such as the Hitler-Bush ad)whether they had anything to do with it or not, the GOP is silent on this kind of hatred (when they are not actively applauding it).

3. Is Ann Coulter delusional?
Yes, that's a rhetorical question.

I only want to know if she honestly believes the bulls**t she writes, or if she write such bulls**t because she needs the attention.

4. I think she writes
Because she likes money. I don't think she believes a word of what she says.

5. Then may she grub for her reward now, for all she's worth --
because if there's an afterlife, she's not going to enjoy the reward that's waiting for her there.

6. Look at this bilge...
"Then about a month ago, the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press released a poll showing that people who regularly attend religious services supported Bush 63 percent to 37 percent, and those who never attend religious services opposed him 62 percent to 38 percent. When you exclude blacks (as they do in Vermont), who are overwhelmingly Baptist and overwhelmingly Democratic, and rerun the numbers, basically any white person who believes in God is a Republican."

What a dumb fucking bitch....:grr:

7. in OK in the 40s and 50s there was a joke about church and politicians
'You know an election is coming when the politicians start making the rounds of the churche.'

In IA in 1980 and later, I was surprised that no one saw this old truth. But now even in OK people believe the politicians in church are there because they are believers.

Grief.

There's an addition to the joke - 'When you see a politician in church, be sure and protect your wallet - he's gonna want a contribution.'

11. Why is it ok to be so idignant about Ann C., but then so many people here
have no problem saying the exact same level of hatefilled moronic bullshit when it comes to attacking the right?

Isn't it just a little hypocritical to be so angry at idiots like Ann C. but then at the same time do the exact same thing from our side?

12. the difference is....
she states these things as if they are fact, not her opinion or something she made up. The 'right' gets mad if Dems point out facts they don't like to hear. The 'left' gets mad when Repubs make things up. just my 2 cents.

20. Wait a minute. I respectfully disagree.
You accuse people here of "saying the exact same level of hatefilled moronic bullshit" as Ann Coulter. I happen to think there is no post ever here that rises (falls) to the unique level of Ann Coulter, let alone "exactly," and I think, with all due respect, you ought to be called on it. She is a dangerous demagogue. Can you cite examples to back up your charge?

13. She can kiss my Catholic church going ass
I seriously think I could kick her scrawny ass to hell and back for this one.

She is one delusional, twisted, psychotic, mean, ugly, repressed piece of excrement who will burn in hell.

This one just goes way over the line for me.

....to photocopy both my voter registration card and my collection envelopes (with my address) the lying hussy. What do you think?

Hey, Annie, I haven't seen you down at the church lately! Are you too busy breaking commandments to condescend to put in an appearance?

18. I Think That People Are Treading On Dangerous Ground
when they judge the legitimacy of others' faith. Only the God whom I worship knows what's in my heart, and only God has the right to judge it. Ann Coulter is one of the people I hope to be near come judgment day; I want to hear the radical fundies answer such questions as, "why did you oppress and hate my children who are homosexual," and, "why did you ignore my commandment to refrain from judging others?"

I think they will stammer some excuse or another and then they will hear, "depart from me, I never knew you." God is about love, not hate. If Ann's God is about hate, I want no part of it.

21. Good post. The Right thinks they "own" God
I do not question the sincerity of others' religious beliefs, even when I may vehemently disagree with the substance of those beliefs. Coulter is indeed treading on dangerous ground here, but you see it on FR all the time, as well as Michigan Gov. Granholm getting it from the Right when she dared to recall Christ's message of compassion for the poor that is so conveniently forgotten by certain fundamendalists.
