3. I saw it.
It wasn't bombing civilians it was bombing taliban targets. You still see people getting blown away though through the gun cam.

4. There is a video done by the CBC (Canadien station)
and it was narrated by an attorney for a human rights group..I no longer have the link, but I imagine someone here does...they weren't bombing civilians, in this video, they were shooting POW's.

Just like the far left of DU to concern themselves with those poor victims in Afghanistan. Afghanistan, in my view, is MUCH different than Iraq. The Taliban were loony fundamentalist Islamic thugs. When it comes to fighting the Islamic radicals in Afghanistan, we can truly say:
REMEMBER 9-11. Talk about crimes!
edit: It was NOT civilians......

and don't forget, it was what, last week, that we killed 9 Afghani kids, then the next day killed 6 more...

were THEY loony fundamentalist thugs too?

oh that's right, Afghanis don't love their children, I forgot

but on that weekend, most Americans were crying over the dead dog :(

26. problem is, just because Bush calls them Taliban means nothing
after all, if an raqi uses an RPG to kill members of an invading military, they are called "terrorists"

the video itself says nothing about who these people are...

and I'm sure if innocent Americans were involved, or American tropps, you may feel differently...

18. The vast majority of the Afghani people had nothing to do with the Taliban
They were -- and are -- innocent victims. Just people trying to live their lives.

25. Agreed
The Afghan mission is against the TALIBAN. Yes, there have been mistakes. That happens. That doesn't excuse it, it's only a fact. Is there anyone here at DU would be happier with the Taliban in power? The far left is SOOO loud here at DU. But I am confident most DUers stand with me on this issue.

8. ah yes, the gunship video
I have it, got it on new years eve 2002. It's app 5.6 meg. Not 100% sure it's civilains but it sure ain't people fighting. What I found most interesting is their use of super-expensive guided bombs/missiles to take out individuals

seems kinda wasteful to me...

pm me your email and I'll try to send it, though it could be too large for some servers...

15. They should've flown it into a mosque?
That's what Al Quaeda might've done. Much more efficient, yes. But I don't like the waste of life..

19. i have seen the video
This video has been around a while. It's not guided bombs. Those are modified howitzers on the side of an ac130 gunship. The video shows the targeting reticle, what the gunner is watching essentially. There is audio, too, of the entire crew. The crew are professional throughout, confirming the targets and areas to avoid firing before firing - mentioning specifically a mosque as an area to avoid. Incidentally, ac130 also strikes a cave immediately adjacent to the town, where individuals can be seen hiding.

See for yourself.

12. Here:

IMHO the real case for possible war crimes in Afghanistan is the massacre near Mazar-i-Sharif, but I've heard f-all about any follow up after the initial reaction to Jamie Doran's documentary "Massacre in Mazar":

20. Aside from "Democracy Now",
did it ever get an airing in the States? Over here, it was relegated to "Channel 5", which - although a terrestrial station it's reputation is basically crap - gave it a real minority audience. The story only generated press when the Afghan cameraman (who got kidnapped & beaten after viewing a film showing US soldiers present at the scene of the massacre) won the "Rory Peck" award for that documentary, plus the scenes at the Mazar-i-Sharif prison uprising.
