if you remember how obsessed i got with the filler nozzles..(WMD)
as all the reported finds of WMD hit the newsees during the war, the one report that i was never able to see debunked were the rockets with filler valves and nozzles. it has haunted me since then.

i remember saying that i thought they were legit and that bush would sit on them (a lovely thought btw) until he needed them although i didn't think he could string it out until election time.

well here it is nine months later and last night as i waited for Kerry on oreally, i heard oreally say something about david mckay finding rockets with sarin. that would be rockets with filler valves and spray nozzles.

did anyone watch the whole show? was there any indication of what he was talking about.

i had assumed mckay's report was being delayed because he didn't find anything. now i'm starting to wonder if he has found stuff and is holding on to it at bush's demand for releaze at a time when it hurts us the most.

1. You are probably more knowledgeable about the WMD's than I am
But why would Kay ask Congress for 300 million more dollars to find WMD? Maybe he did find something, but the evidence could be minuscle or negligible.

2. I don't remember...
But, I've only been on DU for 6 or 7 weeks now...however, I speculated on that before. It will be timed for very late October and will be trumpeted by every news agency in the US as bigger than the second coming of Christ... and the media whores will be so ecstatic praising Bush that they won't look into the legitimacy of the WMD...

4. who cares about "filler nozzles"
People here gripe that Bush and Blair edged away from "weapons" to "weapons programs" and this is a dodge in the sense that the idea of tangible things that could kill them are much scarier to wag around and shoot "boo!" with and get them worked up into a nice bloodlust but this is missing the point.

Chemical and Biological weapons are not spam, they don't keep. If you don't have a factory turning these things out you don't have weapons. Without a doubt there would be surplus chemical-ready munitions from the Iran/Iraq war but that means absolutely zilch.

6. That was Mike Miniter who spoke with Kay for 90 minutes
No transcript yet.

See my BREAKING FOX:Saddam Hussein STILL captured thread.

Mr.Miniter wrote a book about how "Clinton's failures created global terror" so you know he is fair and balanced.

He said that Kay had found missiles fitted with cannisters and the specific valves needed to deliver Sarin gas. As you probably know Sarin gas is so dangerous that it is mixed in flight and special valves are needed.

I guess the "we aren't going to leak littel bits out but deliver it with a bang" policy of the KAy investigation is no more.

7. Rockets capable of delivering nerve gas are not WMD
Without the nerve gas, they are just rockets. There is no question that Hussein had WMD (including nerve gas) in the past. The fact that some delivery rockets are still around doesn't mean anything. If the rockets are in a high state of maintenance, then that would tend to indicate that there was some recent plan to at least have them ready to use.
