Howard Dean and his DU supporters
Do the Howard Dean supporters of DU have a mailing list or discussion list of any sort to help coordinate information?

The way I see it, as we move into the heart of the primaries, we are going to have to redebate all the old rhetoric once-twice-thrice over, even though it has been rehashed several times already. It would be nice to coordinate information so everyone is up to date and on the same page.

ProfessorPlum particularly has been an inspiration to me and my support for Dean. Some of the Prof's posts are the definitive response to many issues and I don't see any reason trying to formulate a different response.

This is just an idea I'm tossing out. I guess there isn't anything wrong with coordinating this stuff out in the open except sometimes the signal/noise ratio can get really bad.

2. We have our own local mailing list.
It has been great. We share what activism we have done, letters to the editors we write, etc.

6. Count me in!
There have been so many anti-Dean new DU members here recently that it's tough to have a conversation about Dean without winding up with a locked thread.

11. I just like unified messages
and to make sure our strongest arguments are being consistently presented. I'm always chagrined when I state an argument that I think is fairly clear-cut and another DUer comes along and states something four times stronger. Nothing wrong with that, but I feel like my weaker argument 'muddies the water' a bit.

I'm glad the idea is well accepted. I've signed up and am ready to fight the good fight for Howard Dean.

14. The Meet Ups is the best way to meet your candidate's supporters
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 07:10 PM by IndianaGreen
My advise is that you use the Meet Ups to get together with other people. In Indiana we already have a couple of websites by Dean supporters, of which Hoosiers for Dean is one. They supporter's websites range from the very basic to the very slick.

Hoosiers for Dean

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HoosiersforDean/

Indiana for Dean

http://indianafordean.org/?from=5

Michiana for Dean

http://www.michianafordean.org/

None of these websites are officially sanctioned by the Dean campaign. They are from Dean supporters and they are only intended to exchange information, not to debate. If you want to debate, stay in DU.

I strongly recommend the Meet Ups no matter who your candidate happens to be!

25. As a co-host
along w/the host of my town's Dean meet up, we have formed meet ups in two other towns. These groups have been especially great to people that are not on the net.

But, a Yahoo DUers for Dean goes another step further to connect a larger group.

I love it and have already received 29 emails!

27. I don't like mailing lists
I don't like my e-mail box getting bogged down with the messages. I'd be interested in having a DUers for Dean private forum, though. In fact, if there is any kind of interest in something like that I would be willing to locate one and set it up.
