ok . . . I finally have a candidate . . . I support John Kerry . . .
I just watched Kerry interact with voters at a firehouse in New Hamphire for about an hour . . . I've also read his website, and I'm familiar with his record both in the Senate and prior to being elected . . . I feel that he would be the best candidate against Bush, and would generally make the right kinds of policy decisions when in office . . . no, he's not perfect, but then none of them are . . . despite his vote on the war, he has a stellar record of championing the kinds of causes I care about, and I don't for one minute believe that if he were in office, we'd be in the mess we're in in Iraq right now . . .

in considering Dean, I'm much less comfortable with his policy positions, I'm worried about his lack of foreign policy experience, and I frankly just don't see him beating Bush . . . I greatl respect the campaign he's run, but I think a lot of people are on the bandwagon based on his grassroots success more than his viability as the Democratic nominee . . . as for Clark, he's got the credentials, he's likeable, and he's articulate . . . but he's just been to much a part of the military-industrial complex to suit me . . . and I don't like his positions on depleted uranium or on the re-regulation of industry . . .

the polls say that Kerry is toast, but based on what I saw tonight, I have to believe that he'll do a lot better in New Hampshire than the predictions . . . New Hampshire voters are a pretty independent lot, and I don't think they like being told who to vote for, or that the game is over in their state . . .

so I'll be sending John Kerry a check, I'll display his bumper sticker and wear his campaign button, I'll talk to my friends and associates about him, and I'll be voting for him in the New York primary . . . I don't believe this race is a foregone conclusion by any means, and I'm pulling for Senator Kerry to make an impact in the remaining days before Iowa and New Hampshire . . .

1. You could do worse
Although I won't be supporting Kerry anytime soon he has made me a little more comfortable with the idea of him in the oval office recently.

6. If he wins the nomination, I would have no problem campaigning for him.
When I say campaigning, I mean registering people to vote and pounding the pavement for him. He is a good man, it is a shame that all of the candidates can't be our nation's group of elders, it is hard to have to pick one. I am glad that you have found someone that you like.

2. I noticed a quote from your post
the polls say that Kerry is toast, but based on what I saw tonight, I have to believe that he'll do a lot better in New Hampshire than the predictions

And that is all it will take. You just have to believe. :-)

3. Welcome Welcome Welcome!!!
Yeah!!!! Please come over to the Kerry Forum and join in. There are some really wonderful people there and we're all supportive of each other and John Kerry. We've had alot of new people in the last week or so, this primary is a long way from over!!! And he was great tonight at the firehouse, people really love him once they get to meet him or see him interact with regular people. And wait until you see him with little kids, it just melts your heart. He's a genuine human being, he really is the Real Deal!!

5. Good for you!
Kerry is in my top tier... I would vote for him in the general election without reservation. :)

On a side note, you didn't mention any thoughts on Dennis K. Have any opinions on him?

8. Very good choice

Yea, the race is wide open, all the rest saying the contrary is propaganda. (mostly driven by the media)

Any of the top six candidates can win this thing, and it will be a fun ride to see what happens.

Kerry would make a great president, and his campaign seems to be jelling at just the right time. I don't know who it is, but the campaign advisor or advisors are finally getting it right, and it shows in his message lately.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kerry storm back into first in New Hampshire, or make it a lot closer than polls would suggest. (for example, take second place within 10 points of Dean)

10. It's former NH Gov. Jeanne Shaheen
Since she took over the campaign, Kerry has been able to get his message out!

We have to really care about beating BushInc. DECISIVELY. Because anything close goes to them.

14. One of the best in the race!
I only gave my $250 to three candidates: Dean, Kerry and Kucinich. While I've been frustrated with each of them from time to time, over the months I've been validated in my choice--they're the best out there, Kerry would make an excellent president.

15. Way to go................
I don't share your endorsement but ANY ONE of our candiates is head and shoulders above Bush. If Kerry gets the nod, I'll support him until the cows come home. (Just when DO the cows come home anyway?)

19. I was very impressed with him last night
I had my own opinion narrowed down to Dean or Clark. I had written Kerry off. But last night I watched his speech at the NH Fire House and I was really impressed by several ideas he put out there. So, now he's back in my race and I'm even more undecided than ever!

I was really impressed with Kerry last night.

20. Leaning that way myself half the time
The other half of the time I lean towards Clark and I like Dean. Probably will not vote for Dean but I like him.

He has a good solid voting record despite some nonsense.

He is a good man.

is that he said Bush f&%ked up in Iraq. The f-word has never been more appropriate. Pitt had good things to say about him.

34. I want to hear Kerry clobber him with Harken Energy....
Bush's Harken had a small role in BCCI but all the characters seem to be hanging around the administration still....including James Bath and bin Laden.

27. Good choice!
I saw the NH event, too, and I agree with you completely about the people of NH. I think as they see more of Kerry they're just going to like him more and more. I'll be there for Christmas wearing my Kerry gear, then again in January to volunteer the week before the primary. I couldn't be more excited about it!

Can't do better in this race. Kerry's interactions and discussions are very persausive.
And his record as a champion for liberal causes is fantastic.

32. Good Choice!
I think that Kerry is the ONLY one who can undo the mess we find ourselves in under the current administration. It will take someone strong, principled, experienced and with a high degree of integrity.

He has been my choice from the start and will remain so until the end. (However, my motto is ANYBODY BUT BUSH).

36. John Kerry is an excellent Senator
and from what I hear a man with charisma and class in the league of the Kennedys. I'm a Clark supporter, with a second to Dean but Kerry comes third in my bood. In all honesty, I think for the first time in years we have a decent selection of candidates. So I really don't think you can make a "wrong" decision.

Cheers!
