There's hope for victory in '04
DU Wars aside, Bush is not making many friends and stands a good chance of losing in '04. I've seen so many threads like the two examples below, I know that everybody's not being fooled by what's happening to our country. There's hope for America even though it will take years to undo Bush's damage. We'll all need reparations for living through Bush's reign of terror.

"Bush isn't a conservative, he's a borrow & spend fanatic

True conservative Republicans should not vote for Bush in 2004, not if they are actual, authentic conservative Republicans. It is an embarrassment for me to even call myself a Republican right now with Bush in office. With his profuse, incessant borrow and spend habits George W. Bush makes Jimmy Carter look like a Rockefeller Republican. It is time for real conservatives to stand up for what the Republican Party genuinely is.

This message is to anyone who identifies himself or herself with the real Republican Party. It is also to any Republican who has kids or grandkids, as I do, because when this impending deficit finally impacts us it will truly impact all of us. "

"Old Time Republican, Coho, I couldn't have said any better than you two. As a long time Republican I feel the same way. George W. Bush won't get my vote this Presidential election, not this time. "

1. The real question is...
Are they mad enough to vote for the other party?

2. Perhaps...the Libertarian Party
I can actually see an scenarion where the LIB gets more votes than the Green party in 2004.

3. Maybe they are
but not mad enough to vote for Dean, IMO.

Clark, maybe.

6. But the real answer is still "No"
They won't vote Libertarian. They're mad, sorta, but it's more like they're disturbed by Bush's big government. They're disciplined enough to hold their noses and vote Republican en masse.

4. That's a very good point, Linazelle.
We should all go door-knocking and introduce ourselve to our Republican brothers, and tell them that the Democrats will be the "new conservatives". "We'll get the budget cleaned up, after that lunatic Bush spent all the money". What a laughable joke: the democrats are now the fiscal conservatives.

Seriously though, I CAN tell you what will guarantee our victory in 2004: Exit Polls. That's where the Deibold voting machines have met their match. The Ream-publicans know they cannot fool everybody 100% of the time.

Like Genius George said, "You can fool some of the people some of the time, and those are the people you want to talk to".

5. We could never swing
those conservatives our way, but maybe some of them will become so disillusioned that they stay home or vote libertarian. That'd be great! :)

Mostly I think it's just wishful thinking. The Republican machine has become very good and getting all their little people goose-stepping behind the party's chosen one.
