Donna Brazille Just Declared The Race Over On CNN
I want to be fair because I don't have the transcript but she cited all eight candidates by name and said they seriously need to ask themselves if they can go the distance with Howard Dean......

I was going to make an editorial comment but I won't....

Happy Holidays,

Brian

1. I wouldn't go that far...
But this is clearly a 'fourth quarter and 4th down' situation for the other candidates.

5. I Handicapped The Race In Another Thread.....
Dean 1 to 2

Gep 3 to 1

Clark 5 to 1

Edwards 10 to 1

Kerry 12 to 1

Lieberman 15 to 1

The odds on the others are so high to be prohibitively off the board.....

It's not over till Donna Brazille sings.

Oh wait a second, nobody says that. I just made it up. So maybe there's still hope for the other candidates.

and calls/lunches with him often. So NOW WHY WOULD WE LISTEN TO ANYTING SHE SAYS?????????????!

(perhaps some think she might be picking up on repug strategy by doing so... SOrry, but I can't imagine a scenario where Donna would outsmart Rove... Just not gonna happen)

31. where did you get the idea that the primaries...
were a democratic process?!

If it were, the elections wouldn't be over every time after only 1/3rd of the primaries are held....

If it were, the largest states would have more of a say in the selection....Cali, NY and Texas get screwed every time...

If it were, the money campaign would not weed out viable candidates who never get a chance to show us what they got....

If it were, groups like the CDC, NEA and labor unions wouldn't be able to endorse and sway the public's opinion....

This sounds alot like sour grapes and nothing like concern for the democratic process....because the things I listed have a bigger impact on how democratic the process is than Al Gore....

Me thinks you doth protest too much....

However, Dean, with Gore's endorsement, certainly is in the catbird seat at this time. And if he picks up Senator Tom Harkin's endorsement, as has been rumored, it's all over in Iowa, for Harkin is the Democratic Party in Iowa.

I'm sticking with Kucinich though as I want to get some of his positions in the state party platform.

And she IS a Rove plant. Not only that, she's on the board of the rw "Foundation for the Defense of Democracies" which sounds great, but is really a neo-con group dedicated to neo-con imperialism, consisting of such neo-cons as Charles Krauthammer, Eric Cantor, Richard Perle, Newt Gingrich and others. Eeeewwwwww! I have to go take a shower now!

And I pray to God Almighty that she doesn't even set foot inside Dean's campaign office.

The last time someone told us who was going to be the
winner, we got bush. She said the others should get out.
Thank you, Donna Brazille, mastermind of the Al Gore
debacle for making choice impossible on OUR side of the
aisle too.

I cannot believe how *&%$#@ this makes me. So, no one
is allowed a choice now because one person makes it for
us. Consider this. FIVE people made the last choice. Now
we're down to one person.

All the others are supposed to hang it up because Al
Gore gave his endorsement. Thank you, Al and Donna. I
had almost forgotten the misery of the last time
someone chose for me. Thanks for taking the burden off
my back.

14. I enjoyed watching Karl Rove's tool
She seemed to be going through the mechanics of saying positive things about Dean and Gore, but looking very uncomfortable with the whole thing. It was almost as if she could see her extinction flashing before her eyes and she was taking the opening steps required for self-preservation. I expect she'll have all the wrinkles smoothed out by this evening so she can recast herself as a populist.

It's good to see Howard Dean following through on his promise to scatter the cockroaches who have done their best to turn the Democratic Party into the Republican Party. It gives me great hope.

I could never understand why Gore selected Donna Brazille to be his campaign manager. She had about as much enthusiasm for the Gore campaign as the pet rock my grandkids gave me for my garden. Anything she states about any of the democrat candidates should carry little weight as she is extremely unpassionate regarding the candidates or the Democrat Party.

46. Why Gore Chose Donna
In choosing Donna Brazille as his campaign manager, Al Gore showed his lack of political talent. A president has to have good people around him; it's a necessary skill.

Gore was not personally interesting. Another campaign manager would have avoided having the election decided on personalities.

37. Donna Brazille is loyal ONLY to Donna Brazille
She is an opportunistic "crowd follower" and likes to be where she thinks the "action" will be. A year ago she was dissing Al Gore as one who she basically felt couldn't make a comeback to beat Bush. Her head has a spindle on it, 'cause it twists and turns like a weather vane.

She has NO credibility and as someone who worked a horrible campaign when Gore ran, she just needs to shut-up. She and Karl Rove are buddies and I don't trust her.

51. This NYT story is a source for the Brazile/Rove friendship --
Again, please, not asking for flaming -- I just remember the article:

Two years ago, Donna Brazile, then Al Gore's campaign manager, was engaged in daily combat with Karl Rove, then George W. Bush's top campaign strategist.

Today, they chirpily exchange e-mail, chat on the phone and write letters, indulging in their shared zeal for the inner workings of politics.

"I like her a lot," said Mr. Rove, now ensconced in the West Wing as President Bush's chief political adviser.

Ms. Brazile, a committed Democrat who was the first black woman to manage a presidential campaign, has built similar relationships with other Republicans, like Grover Norquist, an influential conservative strategist. And her coziness with them comes as she is deeply frustrated with her own party for what she calls years of taking African-Americans for granted and for failing to organize for elections in a coherent way.
