Could the leaking of Gore's endorsement of Dean be a slap at Clark?
The leak was made on the day Clark was to appear on Hardball and is creating a buzz that will challenge Clark's planned uncontested spotlight in the media moment with Chris Matthews.

This leak of Gore's endorsement of Dean reminds me of the leak that Clark made in September on the day that Edwards was making his formal announcment. Clark's leak that he was going to formally announce his entry in the race the next day clouded Edwards supposedly uncontested moment in the media. Could the leak of Gore's endorsement of Dean be done as a slap at Clark for his pettiness back in September?

LMAO
Finally, the endorsement is spun as candidate-bashing. The Circle Is Complete.

2. Clark's pettiness in September?
Um, well, for one, you are assuming that Clark announced when he did to slap Edwards, which I don't think is know. I don't think everything is quite so masterfully orchestrated. Some stuff just happens...

6. Clark didn't announce on the same day as Edwards
but Clark leaked that he was going to make his formal announcment, that was already scheduled on another day, on the same day as Edwards made his formal announcment. That leak stole a lot of Edwards thunder in the media.

8. Gore didn't make the leak
An anonymous Dean supporter did and did it on a day that Clark was scheduled to appear on Hardball and get lots of media attention. Maybe it was a pre-emptive-Chris-Lehanism tactic by the anonymous Dean supporter.

4. This Is Perhaps the Lamest Theory I've Read in a Long Time
Hardball is small potatoes. We're talking microscoping in the grand scheme of things.

The Gore endorsement is big. I'm sure it just leaked because it was such a big story.

9. I Don't Think it's a Slap at Clark
I think it *may* be a slap at Edwards. Possibly Joe.

But I can't think of anything Clark has done to deserve a slap from Al, so ...

10. The endorsement itself is a HUGE slap to Lieberman
Although I doubt there is any motivation to the timing.

11. planned uncontested spotlight ??
too deep.

..snip..
"Another rival candidate, Wesley Clark, the retired Army general, played down the impact of the endorsement. “No kidding — I think it’s wonderful,” he told MSNBC’s Marisa Buchanan."

msnbc is spinning it this way ..
..snip..
"Speaking to NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, the sources described the endorsement as a way for Gore to maneuver himself to challenge former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, for supremacy within the Democratic Party. Sources close to the Clintons said Monday that they would not make endorsements in the primary race."

Again, too deep.
