On January 20, 2004, Democratic Underground will celebrate its third anniversary. In that time, DU has gone from a relatively small group of outraged citizens to a massive storehouse for information and activism. It has been remarkable to watch.

We have three DUers running for Congress this time around, three DUers demonstrating the ultimate in activism and dedication. Jeff Seeman is running for the House in Ohio, Vince Whitacre is running for the House in Wisconsin, and Charlie Crystle is running for Senate in Pennsylvania. Those are three states worth their weight in solid gold come the 2004 election.

You can help beat Ralph Regula, who threatened to cut funding to Democratic districts as punishment for voting against Bush. You can help beat James Sensenbrenner, one of the House Impeachment Managers. You can help beat Arlen "Magic Bullet" Specter.

This is a fund drive. Every time we pass $500 in donations, the bulldozer above will smash the Republicans. The ultimate goal is $5,000, so we have to reset that graphic above ten times. You can watch it move throughout the day.

Donations may be made two separate ways. There is a PayPal account set up. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF PAYPAL TO DONATE THIS WAY. It accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card, and American Express.

If you send a check, PLEASE note the check amount here or in an email to the address above so they may calcuate it in the final total.

All funds will be collected, divided three ways, and distributed to each candidate at the end of the fundraiser. The maximum contribution for this funraiser per individual contributor is $6,000 ($2,000 per candidate). Friends Of Jeff Seemann For Congress is the acting committee accepting funds for this fundraiser. The PayPal account will read Jeff Seemann For Congress. Vince Whitacre and Charlie Crystle are aware of this and have agreed to allow Jeff's campaign to accept funds and distribute to their campaigns accordingly.

If you wish to donate to two of the candidates but not the third, you may do so, but you need to send an e-mail requesting that, and they can separate their donation.

At least you are heading in the right direction. When I was your age, I was the president of the Young Repukes. Duuuh. Was even the youngest delegate for their nefarious convention (both in Maine and attended the NH one). That's when I realized I was in the totally wrong room, got up and walked out in the middle of the convention after giving those fucks an earful. Embarassed my poor Mom, also a delegate...

...State candidates and Federal candidates cannot participate in a joint fundraiser.

We originally included Andy (GB&C) in this effort, but the FEC would not allow it. We were told to run this with the federal candidates or face penalties.

Andy is aware of this. We'll make it up to him somehow. Legally.
