I got 3 mailings from Republicans since the last time I checked my mail at home. All 3 were from the Bush camp.
Exhibit A: a Christmas Card, with bible verse and fake Laura Bush signiature. Otherwise a very pretty card, I wonder about the Bible verse. If the Bushes are actually Christians, then why are they afraid to say so--the verses they use are always from the OT. In fact, why should the government be sending me Bible verses anyway?
Exhibit B (and C): November 24, 2003: (from Marc Racicot)
"Have you heard the ugly things they say about President Bush? Now wealthy liberals plan to skirt campaign laws by giving hundreds of millions of dollars to defeat our president."
This letter contains rants about gifts from George Soros and Jane Fonda (a born-again Christian, but they suddenly fail to mention that when it's politically inconvenient.) The plan: raise 4 million $$$ in the next 30 days.
Apparently they will be hitting up people for cash based on the assumption that Democrats are breaking finance laws and poor Republicans need more cash. They will charge (as they already have) that the Democrats are just angry and lack any vision for the future of America. And they're already playing the "special interests" card on us, when it should be the other way around.
Let's get to work.
