WTF? I'm wondering why our local NBC affiliate chose not to show Saturday Night Live with Al Sharpton hosting? Is this a local "political" choice?

1. Ask them what happened.
Maybe they had a technical problem receiving the program. Then ask them when they are going to air the AS SNL show. If they don't, report them to the affiliate. I bet there is some place you can file a complaint.

Where are you (roughly)?

6. They made fun of you on the air.....
Some affiliates chose not to run it for equal-time laws might apply.

On Weekend Update, they ripped on the 8 cities who opted out....they said of Nasville "Ya'll come back now, queers" (it sounds funnier when you actually hear it)

2. You didn't miss much
Bad skits, almost no politics (altho there was a kinda funny skit with the candidates hanging out at a pretty gay edwards house (joke: if he kissed ass any harder he'd be sucking blood.

3. It would trigger equal time laws
many states didn't show it.

10. Yeah Fork, You Are Correct !!!
My local NBC affiliate, KCRA Sacramento, ran a crawler saying that because Sharpton had been certfied for the election by the Secretary of State, they would not be able to show it. Equal time laws apparently. Good call.

:hi:

11. So, why did other California NBC affiliates...
show the program? KCRA (Sacramento) is my closest NBC station but I was able to pick SNL up from San Jose. Individual affiliates made the choice, and I have to wonder what KCRA's motives really are. Something stinks in Sacramento, besides Arnie.

Al was pretty good but god it was sooooooooo unfunny. It got to the point for me were it became painful. Their writers suck.

5. I read last year that Tina Fey was signed
for a 4 year contract as head writer for SNL. I guess we can look forward to 3 more years of unfunny skits.

8. I watched four minutes, then cut to infomercials
Maybe I'm trying to hard to respect Sharpton after the Brawley thing and his connections (now severed) with D'Amato but I couldn't sit through more than two minutes of his James Brown act.

Had to turn it off.
