Joe Trippi on Dean Ads in SC, New Mexico, and Arizona
Edited on Fri Dec-05-03 01:59 PM by slinkerwink
"We see a further retreat by other candidates into a 1- or 2- state strategy," Trippi continued. "However, we are continuing with our 50-state strategy, because that is the only strategy that can win the nomination and defeat George Bush in the general election.

"Continuing with that strategy, beginning on Monday we will begin a sustained television ad buy in South Carolina, and we'll stay on the air through the South Carolina primary. Also on Monday we'll go up on the air in New Mexico, and we'll stay up through February 3rd. In both states we're adding considerable resouces in terms of organization and grassroots efforts on the ground. And within the next 7 to 10 days, we'll also go up in the state of Arizona and the state of Oklahoma. Those two will also stay up until the elections there.

"We have plans for Missouri, Delaware, and North Dakota. As we develop those plans we'll make you aware of them...........Also on Sunday, we'll be starting a 30-minute program in Madison, Wisconsin. The show has bio information on the Governor, talks about his positions, and encourages people to join our grassroots efforts. We're building a strong grassroots campaign in Wisconsin, and this is an idea that came from our Internet supporters. Someone suggested it on the blog as a way to reach out to more people, and we thought it was an interesting idea and we decided to try it. If it works, we'll expand the program into other states like Washington to continue building national support for Dean, but the first instance of that is in Wisconsin this Sunday."

6. That's the key.... Dean can have active and mobile forces in any state

within about 48 hours.

Thanks tot he meetups. the organization is already there... hundreds and thousands of people in every major city. All Dean's camp has to de is set up and office to coordinate efforts... put some phone banks in, and they've got it.

There's no way for the other guys to beat this level of organization.

7. I agree, and Meetup was a large part of the campaign's early organization
I've got to say they got lucky with Meetup :hi:

20. Which is exactly why I'm always so confused and
amused by the "unelectable" charge. He's already organized in every state -- some better than others, but still. I just think people who fall for the "unelectable" tag aren't looking at the reality of the situation, including what a creative, aggressive campaign they are running, rewriting ALL the rules.

21. I agree, and all the other candidates' organizations can't touch the level
of organization that Dean has.

14. I've had a couple neighbors...
...stop me to ask about Dean this week. Talk about a pick me up. I'm not the most social of people, so I amazed myself. Talked up Dean policy, the campaign, didn't mention other candidates or "Bush hate" once. Didn't need to. I've got someone to vote for, not just someone to vote against...

17. Is your dislike for Clark so strong that he would have no position in a
Democratic Administration? If you feel he is a valuable Democrat why the snide remarks?

8. Dean's supposed to visit Las Cruces, NM around mid-Dec.
Edited on Fri Dec-05-03 02:08 PM by Gloria
It was in the paper today, no details yet.

Meanwhile, Clark is getting some volunteers into Iowa...I don't know if its the official campaign or not, but apparently out of staters are going in there.

I'd prefer to see Clark here, but if it's an open Dean rally, I may just go for the heck of it....

Edwards was here at a clinic a couple of months ago...
