Pepsi to Cut 750 Jobs in Restructuring
Pepsi to Cut 750 Jobs in Restructuring

NEW YORK (Reuters) - PepsiCo Inc (PEP.N). on Tuesday said it would cut about 750 jobs as it reorganizes its North American soft drink business and international operations and closes a Frito-Lay plant in the United States as it moves to cut costs. The reorganization comes about 18 months after the company, which is trying to revitalize sales of its trademark cola drink, consolidated its North American drinks business into one unit. Under the new plan, the company will separate the business into three units: Pepsi-Cola, Gatorade, and juice.

1. And the hits just keep on comin'
I will do my best to keep Pepsi going. I absolutely will not give up my Pepsi Cola. I think I'd rather give up sex than Pepsi. Ok, maybe not, but damn, gotta have my Pepsi. Good luck to all the employees who will soon be jobless. Welcome to the ever growing ranks of the unemployed. Thanks bushco and corporate America. Nothing like a "recovery" where people are losing jobs.

2. Why don't they just cut their endorsements?
Heck if they fired Britny and Beyonce they could keep all those people working.

3. Hey, didn't Pravda say Toilet Paper Production was up 600%, comrades
Corporate TV Pravda, that is...

Plus, the income saved by firing those 750 people should translate at least to a nice new Hummer (loaded) for a couple of board members when it comes time to renegotiate their "package".
