Poll question: Other than Jeb, who do you think could win the 2008 GOP nod?
They say it's Jeb's for the taking, but if he doesn't want it, who do you think will win it?

1. What about
Karl Rove? He's in the news enough and only associates himself even barely with good things (to most people). The tricky bastard may take a shot at it.

2. I suspect it will be a current governor, though not Jeb.
Someone will come to the forefront in time, but I doubt it will be anyone on this list. That's a long ways off.

4. If Jeb Bush ran for the White House
I would go bonkers. I couldn't imagine another Bushitas in the White House. He is on my number two list for Republicans that I extremely hate, right under Rick Santorum.

23. I don't think it's his for the taking...
He doesn't have that phony down-home persona that his brother has that evidently fools plenty of people. He's got a sharp tongue,as well as a very unpleasant shopaholic wife who tends to forget things like declaring $25,000 worth of merchandise to customs. If somehow,* gets left in place in 2004 the more rational Republicans(there surely are some)may be sick of the Bushes themselves by then.

You know about the GOP and moderates, don't you?

9. He can't win
His views on forein policy are way too moderate. He has been too critical of Bush too win the nomination. He is quite similar to John McCain, who he endorsed in 2000, however. But, I don't see someone like McCain doing well in the current political environment in the republican party.

But he laid the groundwork in 2000. And Reagan was older when he got elected. It's a posssibility.

Jeb WILL BE the next president. The repukes will continue to control all branches of government and the voting machines. How can we stop them.

14. Condoleezza Rice
Do a Google and you can even find a web site for her run:

http://www.rice2008.com/

She would be an extremely formidable opponent, maybe even deadly. Unlike W she is very articulate, extremely intellegent (Just because someone is on the other side doesn't make them stupid.)and of course, is a black woman. The Freepers are all in love with her, and I think they would support a run from her.

This year he's throwing it down against Bush, maybe in 4 more years he'll be trying to go up against president Kerry.

16. None of the above
Have you ever seen that congressman from Indiana...he appears on cross fire frequently..Pence?? He is so blow dried he looks like they are grooming him. At least Molly Ivins could have fun with his hair.
Doubt they'd be nuts enough to put up Guiliani...he was living with his mistress...while still married...in the Gracie Mansion.
Seems they'd figure us dems would make mincemeat out of that.
Cheney is too old and too sick.
I'll leave the country for sure if another Bush is selected

Cheney will not be around by 2008.
Ashcroft and Delay are waaay too polarizing to ever win an election (yes, more polarizing and radical than Bush is).
Powell is black, and unless he agrees to be a complete puppet for neo-cons and the Bush interests (I don't think he's FULLY at that point yet, but this is arguable), this is enough to prevent him from becoming president.
And Rumsfeld has more power as a Secretary of Defense than he would have as president, so I dont see him moving up.

My guess? Toby Keith.
