CNN poll: Should * have met with ordinary Iraqis, too? 61% NO!!!!
Edited on Fri Nov-28-03 06:19 PM by buycitgo
why not?

too dangerous?

couldn't find any sympathetic "ordinary" Iraqis?/Chalabi and the rest of the Coalition off to Monaco?

this whole thing is just so transparently a photo op by the administration who rules by publicity stunt that it boggles the mind.

Unfortunately, almost EVERY high profile dem has been cornered into supporting the empty gesture, even when providing a demurring caveat. You can be sure those approving bites will be used in the future, unless this thing backfires to the degree of the "Mission Accomplished" fiasco

and how in the world can any of these voters defend the CCIC's (Cowardly Chimp in Chief) NOT meeting with Iraqis, or at least spending some more time there, in contrast to Hillary, whose mission there almost surely prompted this cynical response

over 50,000 votes, so this won't change very much

3. Bush hable espanol, no arabic
I really doubt that Bush went there because of hillary. Every right-wing conspiracy involves her, I don't think we need to start doing that.

4. It would have been a MUCH bigger PR coup
Count your blessings. Handpick a few of Chalabi's crew and trot them out to praise Bush, and it becomes even more intolerable.

5. They could easily have invited ordinary Iraqis to dinner
I'm sure they could have found some Iraqis who would be safe around the troops, maybe an entire family who could meet their "Great Liberator." But I guess our situation is now so paranoid that they assumed anyone they invited would scope the place out, looking for security weaknesses.

I'm still angry that he did not sit down and "break bread" with the troops. Can you imagine going to someone's house for Thanksgiving, someone who is busting their ass for you, and you waltz around with a turkey dinner on a platter with grapes and potatoes, and then you leave? bush's crass manners are appalling.

What a sham.
