3. Some of them do, but a bigger issue is Hispanics voting Repub
About 90% of Hispanics are Roman Catholic, and a large chunk of them actively practice their religion. I personally know families of Mexican descent who often choose candidates based on their views on abortion, marriage, etc.

14. As a "Hispanic" myself I can't understand this.
But I believe Democratic candidates need to get ads on Spanish language radio and TV to counter their misunderstandings of the progressive candidate's platform. In our zeal to be politically correct, we forget to appeal to them with the fact that we are family friendly, because we believe in health care for all, free education and Social Security funding for the "abuelitos" or grandparents.

21. That's why we need ads.
The repukes always trot out the abortion issue. Even on DU, whenever there is an election there are two to three abortion threads going to stir up the pot. Have you noticed there are none now? We have to refute it by changing the subject to something they are interested in, family. Since I live in California we have a lot of Spanish media here, yet in the last election the Republicans were airing Spanish speaking ads far more than the Democrats.

Remember half of the Hispanics are women and many have had abortions in lieu of one more kid they don't want to raise. Back in the rusty wire coat hanger days, California women went to Mexico to get an abortion. I don't think this is as big an issue as getting our message out.

California women who could afford it went to an underground practitioner in the US. Those who could not went to Tijuana.

Some very religious individuals are very aware of the dangers of mixing religion and politics. Its not just us atheists up there defending the wall of seperation.

7. Take this seriously!
Many African-Americans are both evangelical Christians and committed progressives. There are also a few white evengelical Christians who are progressives. They are in the real Evangelical tradition -- in an earlier epoch evangelicals were among the leaders in the anti-slavery cause and in other social causes, often supporting Christian Socialism. It is important both to expose the fraud that Christian faith demands "conservatism" and to avoid demeaning the faith of some of the best friends, and best people, the progressive movement has.

10. All races do that.
Ever heard of Hip hop? Its basically the lust of money and women.

DISCLAIMER: I did not mean to imply that all blacks follow this culture of listening to Hip hop, but it is more likely in the black community then any other. Just as all whites dont listen to "Rock" music, myself included.

13. Black Christians believe in a liberal Jesus...
while the Southern Baptist types believe in a jealous and vengeful God. The southern Baptist types who claim to believe in Jesus, prefer to gloss over the new testament teachings of Jesus the liberal, in favor of the old testament vengeful God.

19. The pairing of religion and the right is a recent change
The repuke party was traditionally the economic heartless party. It was the rise of the religious right and their combining together with the economic right that resusitated the repukes.

By no means has all religion been blinded to the greed of the right. It is the fanatical religious right and their desire to undo any semblence of a pluralistic society that drove these two creations together.

Our society is changing. For the better. Change is difficult for some to cope with even if it is for the best. It is these changes to society that drive the religious right. As we become more and more aware of the evils we have visited on people in the past because of ignorance and prejudice we seek to right these errors. But many have beliefs which are tied to the past and change does not come easy to belief systems.

The black community though deeply religious (though not unanimously) is aware of the harm caused in the past having experienced it first hand. Thus they recognise the old demons and side with the left to keep them from ever obtaining such control again.

When did Gore say that strict constructionists -- i.e. those who oppos common sense in government -- believe that blacks are only 3/5th of a human (something the constitution does not say)?

And do you have some Democratic quote regarding Goldwater and racism?

24. What does God Fearing have to do with political parties?
The conservative Right Wing is full of greed and refuses to help the needy. Two things that Jesus specifically warned against.

The Democrats have yet to shake the notion that they are immoral (Clinton) and stand stongly pro-choice. Two things that religious persons often time disagree with.

It's up to the person to decide which more closely reflects their goals.

27. A Christian Can Forgive Clinton
When Christ saw that a woman was being stoned for committing adultery he stopped the stoning and asked "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." They all split. Then Christ told the adultress to go and sin no more.

32. Because Blacks = "Liberals Like Christ"
Why not ask "Why should ANY God fearing person vote for 'pro-family' repubs?"
The vast majority of blacks in America are Christians, but unlike the many white Christians whose denominations were so off-base that they supported and endorse slavery, blacks are much more likely to be "Liberals Like Christ", i.e. they know that Jesus represents the LIBERAL values of love, understanding, respect, tolerance, generosity, compassion, justice, etc., not the CONSERVATIVE values of selfishness, pride, arrogance and judgmentalism. { See the two defined at great length at http://www.LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/Liberals }.

Democrats had better stop trying to hide under the table when the abortion issue comes up in "God-fearing" circles. I urge them to be ready to face it head on and proudly with the arguments we lay out for them at http://www.LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/ChristianChoice .

Democrats have already lost many "God-fearing" white on this issue and I predict they will lose many "God-fearing" brown, if not black, voters on this issue if they continue to try to duck it.

at http://www.LiberalsLikeChrist.Org .
WE are the Answer to the "Christian Coalition" & "Religious Right" .
YOU are the way to get the word out, because unlike THEM,
WE are the friends of the POOR and the downtrodden,
who can't give US the kind of support the RICH give to THEM

if many blacks are god fearing

They get to dominate and control you. Might even tell you who and how to vote.

The Emotion of FEAR is exploited by the ones using pysops.
