Who will get the endorsements of the withdrawing candidates
Assuming it comes down to Clark and Dean (and maybe Kerry), whom will Sharpton, CMB, Kucinich, Holy Joe, Gep, and Edwards endorse?

1. I think Kerry will get Edwards, Lieberman, and Gep supporters
for the most part. Sharpton, Kucinich, and CMB- complete toss-up. They might go with either "outsider" Dean or Clark. The other guys are more "establishment" so they would likely stick with Kerry, another "establishment" guy.

Interesting question, and highly speculative, of course. But I'll play (with no offense to any supporters of my selections for drop outs. It's just one guy's opinion.)

In order of dropping out (drop out date in parenthesees):

Dennis Kucinich: Howard Dean (before Iowa)
Carol Moseley Braun: Nobody (before Iowa)
John Kerry: Dick Gephardt (after Feb. 3)
Al Sharpton: Nobody (After Feb. 3)
Joe Lieberman: Dick Gephardt(After Feb. 3)
John Edwards: Nobody (After Feb. 10)

Clark, Dean and Gephardt take it to the finish.

Nobodies abstain, not because they don't have a preference, but because they are hopeful of a VP invitation or administration post from the eventual nominee.

4. Clark will get Sharpton.
They are very friendly and Al has said some nice things about Clark's positions on race. I think Edwards might endorse Clark. It all depends on who has a shot and when they drop. Lieberman isn't going to endorse Gep if Gep is done. Same for other combinations.

5. I will go out on a limb and say Holy Joe endorses Clark.
In hope of getting the VP slot. Which will instead go to Dean, but Clark will be nice to Joe. Maybe make him Attorney General or something.

I pulled this entirely out of my Brazilian a$$. If I'm right, I r00l. If I'm wrong, I never said it.

6. Anybody but Dean
He has burned a few bridges amongst his candidate comrades.
